"With estate planning, I deal more with families, and that’s much more satisfying to me than dealing with corporate clients. I’m getting to know people on a personal level,” said Karen L. Stewart, attorney and counselor, specializing in estate planning and probate matters with over 12 years of experience.
“I am an attorney for the middle class,” said Karen.
Her honest, down-to-earth personality makes it easy for clients to relate to her as an individual who is genuinely interested and cares about their lives. This is definitely not your stereotypical lawyer. Ask any of Karen’s clients, and they’ll tell you that she puts forth all her sound expertise and energy in each case.
Karen Stewart was born in Redford Township and attended Thurston High School. She received her accounting degree at Eastern Michigan University, and then went on to Wayne State University for law. Her tax planning foundation and CPA credentials give her a strong legal basis when planning an estate. |

On the third Wednesday of every month, Karen holds free, 30-minute consultations with seniors at the Novi Senior Center. It’s a wonderful way to meet Karen in a casual setting, and address any questions and concerns about wills, trusts, guardianship and other related topics. She is also available for seminar and lecture engagements.
All of her hard work has not gone unnoticed.
Karen Stewart was recognized as mentor of the year in 2000 by the National Association of Career Women. And In 1998, she was recognized as Career Woman of the Year by the NACW. She is also a member of the Oakland County Bar Association, Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and Business Network International.

Presently, Karen works and lives in Novi.
“It’s really given me a sense of community that I haven’t felt before,” said Karen.

Hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Evening and weekend conferences are by appointment only.
